Homemade swivel bracket for TV. We mount the TV on the wall securely and conveniently. Distance from floor

Before or after purchasing a TV, the happy owners of a new device are faced with quite logical questions: “Where and with what help to attach the newly purchased TV?” This article addresses the following issues: how to choose a TV bracket And how to make a TV bracket with your own hands.

The first thing that comes to mind is to find a ready-made TV bracket in a store, which without a doubt is ideal solution. But what are the differences between these products, and how to choose the right TV bracket, is a mystery to many.

How to choose a TV bracket

The price for these mounts starts at $7 and can exceed $150, so it makes sense to understand what it depends on and what to choose.

Adjustment

Expensive brackets have more options for adjusting the tilt and swivel of the attached TV. The greater the angles of inclination and rotation, the higher the cost of the product. The cheapest models have no adjustment, they are static.

Screen diagonal

The maximum and minimum diagonal of the TV screen for which the bracket is designed. Again, the larger it is, the higher the price.

Distance from wall

The cost of the bracket is greatly influenced by how far it is placed from the wall. Minimum distance the distance of the bracket from the wall can be 10-13 mm, and such brackets are cheap. But to purchase a bracket with a reach of 400-550 mm, you will have to spend $60-100.

Brackets for ceilings, walls and tables are available for sale. The mounting location is selected individually, depending on preferences. Since wall-mounted brackets are more common, find suitable model at an affordable price it will be easier in this category.

Maximum load

The maximum load on the bracket directly depends on the weight of the TV. The more the bracket can withstand, the more reliable and expensive it is.

Now, let's move on to creating a bracket with our own hands. Since you have reached this section, it means that you have already studied the entire store assortment of ready-made brackets, and you were not satisfied with something about them (just like me).

Here's a photo of what we ended up with to make it clear what we're talking about.

The task was to hang the TV strictly opposite the bed, while the curtain should not be affected in any way. This means that the simple option of attaching the bracket to the wall at a right angle was no longer needed.

After watching ready-made solutions, More or less suitable options We found only from $80, since we needed a bracket with a 545 mm offset and a significant angle of rotation, in general, we couldn’t afford it. The rotation angle was necessary, but tilt adjustment was not needed, and this already simplified the task, because making a TV bracket with tilts with your own hands is something unrealistic.

It was decided to use a long gate loop as the base. This loop can withstand a load of 50 kg, which is extremely reliable for a bracket.

The loop itself was secured to two anchor bolts, and there’s no need for more here, now the loop can only be pulled out with the wall.

Next, a piece of board was cut out, which serves as the connector of the bracket to the TV. The board with the bracket is connected with bolts with a truncated cone, this is done so that the heads of the bolts are in the same plane with the board, and nothing rests against the TV.

Then the wires were laid in a cable channel, which was secured with glue.

We also installed a separate outlet for the TV.

At this point, the installation of the bracket was completed, and all that remained was to fix the TV on it.

Bracket creation costs

The gate hinge is the main and only expense; it cost 140 rubles. It doesn’t even make sense to count a piece of board and bolts, since these are pennies. In general, the cost of the bracket itself did not exceed 200 rubles. The creation of a bracket for the poor has been successfully completed. If you decide to use the ideas from this article, leave a comment on it, good luck!

Modern TVs are lightweight. This allows you to place them not only on bedside tables, but also attach them to the wall. This is much more convenient and expands their functionality.

For fixation, use special wall brackets for the TV, which you can make yourself if you wish. But first you should know the nuances of choice suitable place and making TV brackets with your own hands.

To place a TV on the wall, first of all you need to create the most comfortable viewing conditions. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the safety of all household members.

The placement of the device on the wall will largely depend on the placement of furniture in the selected room. It is necessary to roughly imagine from which point the household will look at the monitor. In most cases this is a sofa and armchairs.

There should be no interference on the direct line between a person and the TV, otherwise viewing can hardly be called comfortable.

The next thing to think about when determining a suitable location is the window. If it is located on the opposite wall from the monitor, it will create strong glare - the screen will be practically invisible. For this reason, it is advisable to choose another place for the TV, where the sun's rays do not fall.
If this is not possible, then The best way To get out of this situation - buy tightly closing curtains or window roller shutters.

To prevent the sun from penetrating inside the room during viewing, it is necessary to select materials in the Blackout style - it practically does not transmit light, which will make viewing more comfortable.

You also need to consider how often you will have to close the windows, including the device. If you have real movie buffs at home who spend a lot of time watching the monitor, it is advisable to buy curtains with an electric curtain rod.

They can be controlled remotely using a remote control. This is not a very expensive purchase and this option will add comfort when viewing.

Optimal suspension height

Having decided on a place, you need to choose correct distance from the floor on which the TV will hang.

The parameters will differ slightly depending on the choice of room:

  1. Hall. In the living room, people often receive guests and relatives, hold various family events, or simply relax alone with their family. In any case, this is a place where a lot of people gather, and therefore they look at the monitor from different points: the sofa is usually located immediately opposite the screen, there are armchairs on the sides, and it can stand even further desk. Conventionally, we can say that the middle of the screen should be located at a distance from 70 to 175 cm from the floor level. Typically, the TV hangs at a distance of 1.2-1.4 m. When choosing a placement height, you need to take into account that the heads of household members should not tilt forward or backward, as this creates a load on the cervical spine, which leads to the spread of osteochondrosis. Opposite the human eye should be only the center of the monitor or at least its upper third.
  2. Bedroom. Ideal place to place the device in the bedroom - directly opposite the bed. This way it will be comfortable to watch while reclining. The center of the screen should still be in front of the person's eyes, but the angle of the screen should be changed to 30 degrees. This will create a direct view from a half-sitting or lying position. You can experiment and try different positions. If discomfort is felt, lower or raise the device.
  3. Kitchen area. Small TV units are often mounted to the wall in kitchen area. Taking into account the peculiarities of this space, it should be noted that a person who is in the kitchen while cooking listens to TV more than watches it. But at the same time, the screen should be visible in any part of the room, especially from the side of the stove, where the hostess is most of the time. For this reason, the TV should be located as close to the ceiling as possible. Fixation should be carried out with a rotating bracket. Also, experts do not recommend placing the TV near kitchen cabinets– there is an increased risk of the screen being damaged by a door or an object that has fallen from the stand. Additional conditions: the device is not placed near a stove or sink. Otherwise, the device may be easily damaged by heated air or water.

Having decided on the location and distance from the floor, it will be useful to learn how to make a bracket.

Making a bracket with your own hands

If you don’t want to purchase a special TV bracket in a store, you can make it yourself according to the following diagram:

  1. To assemble the contraction you will need four corners made of aluminum or other durable material. The TV bracket itself will be made from them with your own hands. You also need to find 1 bicycle spoke, which will be used as an additional fastening. It is advisable to look for a corner made of aluminum, since it is much easier to process than other metals. The dimensions are not so important, the main thing is that they exactly coincide with the holes located on the body of the device and on the corner itself.
  2. 2 holes are made in the parts in order to attach the iron to the TV through them.
  3. One hole is also made in the upper part where a knitting needle will be placed to better fix the TV to the wall.
  4. We connect the finished parts to the TV body with M4 bolts. The remaining pair is securely mounted to the wall (after pre-drilling - 2 holes for bolts, 1 on top for a spoke).
  5. Each of the holes made must be ideally located opposite each other so that the device is securely mounted without distortion.
  6. Once all the parts are prepared, you can mount the TV device on the wall. To do this, the TV is lifted and aligned with the mounts. Next, the knitting needle is inserted. If there are no bicycle spokes, it can be replaced with a regular nail. The larger the TV, the thicker the nail should be.

Making wall fasteners and do-it-yourself installation is complete. To simplify assembly, it is advisable to draw up a drawing for yourself on paper with exact dimensions, so that you can then navigate around it.

Difficulties arise when the TV is to be mounted to a plasterboard wall. It's extremely fragile construction material, which may not withstand the load if improperly fixed.

Experts advise in this case to use the following types installation:

  1. Using a butterfly dowel, provided that the TV weighs no more than 15 kg. This is a 42 inch unit. Otherwise, the wall will crumble after a short period of time.
  2. Using a magnet, locate the screws that hold the drywall to the track. Afterwards, you can hang a homemade or purchased bracket to the metal profile that is located behind the sheet wall.

If there are doubts that the drywall will support the weight of the TV set, then it is advisable not to take risks and fix it to the ceiling through the holder.

How to hang a TV on the wall without a bracket

When installing a TV on a wall without a bracket, you need to make sure that there is a small distance of a few cm between the wall and the TV unit (most instructions do not contain this instruction, so you should not forget about this). This will create ventilation and prevent the TV from overheating during operation.

Instructions:

  1. IN hardware store buy metal corners, anchors and metal plates.
  2. The plates should be 4 mm thick - ideal for making a frame that exactly fits the size of the TV device.
  3. In the back panel of the TV (after removing it), make holes for the grooves where the bolts will be placed. The diameter depends on the thread of the bolts purchased.
  4. Four corners are bolted to the frame.
  5. We fix the resulting structure to the TV panel.
  6. We securely attach the four corners to the wall with the same distance between the corners that are on the TV panel. IN metal corner x there are already ready-made holes (3) to make it easier to select the desired position.
  7. The corners are fastened together using bolts and nuts.

It remains to check the reliability of the fastening. If the TV device does not wobble on its holders, then it is installed well. If in doubt, it is better to remove the TV and securely secure the anchors to the wall. Otherwise, there is a risk of expensive equipment overturning.

Brackets are simple devices used for mounting televisions, as well as other household appliances. They are very popular as they can significantly save space in the room. Mainly, stands are used in the kitchen to place small TVs. When watching a movie, the bracket will be invisible due to the equipment installed on it.

There are many types of fastenings. Tilt and swivel brackets are plasma friendly and allow you to adjust the position for easier viewing.

Fixed fasteners are in most intimate contact with the wall, so they are ideal option if you plan to install a very large TV.

Both of the above options are mounted on the wall, which is why they are called wall brackets. In addition to them, there are also ceiling fasteners. This design has the ability to change position by tilting and rotating. This design is also very convenient for placing a TV, but it can only be used in rooms with a high ceiling.

Any type of bracket can be purchased at both a household and hardware store. They are affordable in price. But it is still possible to invent a TV bracket with your own hands. This process is very painstaking and time consuming. Also, if you have a non-standard TV, you can order fasteners for it from a specially trained person (master), according to the size.

So how to make a TV bracket with your own hands? Before starting work, prepare a fastening drawing. It can be made to order, drawn by yourself or produced in computer program. The main thing is to imagine what it is and what elements it consists of. In terms of the quantity and cost of materials, homemade fasteners will halve the cost of a purchased bracket. But if it is assembled incorrectly, it can cause costs due to damaged household appliances. Therefore, during its production you should be extremely careful, and after work, check it for reliability, using unbreakable elements.

Brackets for LCD TVs

Several bars are used for the main material, their length is selected according to the width of the TV. Using a puncher, holes are created in the material. The distance between them should be the same size. The first block is attached to the TV and serves to secure it to the source material. It is attached using bolts. The procedure should be done very carefully so as not to damage the surface of the household appliance. The second material is intended for fixing on the wall. It is also attached using bolts and must be in careful contact with the wall. The TV is connected to the wall using a third bar, which also adjusts the angle of inclination. All three materials should be tightly connected to each other and form a lock.

When fastening, it should be taken into account that the distance of the fastener from the floor must be more than one meter. The distance from the sofa to the TV should be approximately three times its diagonal. To ensure that the brightness of the image is not affected, the angle between the fastener and the screen should be either acute or straight, that is, not exceed 90 degrees.

Brackets for mounting plasma TV

The bracket should only be installed on a clean wall that does not have unnecessary bumps or holes. Do not install it near windows and doors. Also, do not install in places exposed to sunlight, which will reduce image quality and can damage household appliances.

The most durable material should be chosen. Any Appliances may become hot when viewed, and therefore there is a risk of fire or ignition. In addition to the TV, you can use fasteners to install other household appliances, such as a microwave oven, toaster, speakers and much more. For kitchen TVs, for convenience, fasteners are made, right in kitchen corner. It is important to maintain the correct angle when installing.

The DIY TV bracket must be securely located in the wall surface. For greater reliability, household appliances are secured using belts or thick thread.

Here's a video on how to make a TV bracket with your own hands:

The advent of flat-panel LCD TVs has made it possible to optimally use living space. If in the room the TV can be placed on the bedside table, then in the kitchen in most cases it will do wall mounting, which will save a lot of space. When buying a TV, you can ask whether the model you like can be wall-mounted. If you don't want to leaf through the instructions, you can just look at the back cover, on which you will most likely see four threaded holes metallic color. Of course, we can’t screw the TV directly to the wall; we will need a bracket for installation.
If you want to be able to turn the TV around and change its angle, then you can buy TV wall swivel bracket. This is especially true for models with a small viewing angle. Manufacturers have produced a myriad of brackets for every taste and color, the cost of which is sometimes comparable to the price of the TV itself.

If you are not going to periodically rotate the TV, you can make a fairly simple fixed DIY wall bracket.

To mount our 24-inch TV (screen diagonal 61 cm) we needed 4 aluminum corners and a bicycle spoke. You can also take steel corners, but there is almost no load on them, and aluminum is easier to process. I won’t write down the dimensions, the most important thing is that the holes match and it is advisable to do everything level.

Two corners are attached to the TV, each with two M4 screws.

The other two corners are attached to the wall with screws. First, we drill the corners, and then mark the wall, tracing the holes in the corners with a pencil.

The distance between the wall corners should be a couple of millimeters less so that the corners screwed to the TV will wrap around them on the outside.

In each of the four aluminum profiles In the upper part, one hole was drilled, in a plane perpendicular to the holes made earlier. Now let's attach the TV to the wall. The corners screwed to the wall fit between the corners attached to the TV, and we thread a bicycle spoke into the holes drilled at the top. With its help, the corners are fixed to each other. As a result, the TV hangs on a spoke, and the corners that fit each other fix the structure in other directions. To remove the TV from the wall, simply pull out the spoke and the corners unhook.

Photo for clarity - not yet screwed on corners with a protruding knitting needle.

The bicycle spoke has a diameter of 2 mm, but thanks to heat treatment it can easily withstand the weight of the TV. A regular wire for fastening will not work, because... it's soft. For heavier TVs, use thicker studs.

When attaching corners to the wall, it is preferable to use plastic dowels. Before installation, make sure that the wall can support the weight of the TV. In addition, ventilation must be provided, and there should be no heating devices under the TV. If these rules are violated, the TV will overheat, which will lead to its premature failure.

The antenna cable and power cord can be laid in a cable channel matched to the tone of the wall. In some cases, a regular socket can be replaced with a less bulky plug. In order not to remove the TV from the wall every time I replaced the flash drive, I used a USB extension cable.

By the way, in one of our rooms we have the same homemade bracket monitor attached to the wall.

Flat LCD TVs are often mounted on the wall; it looks stylish and modern. Conventional CRT TVs are also mounted on the wall, but to save space, this is most often true in the kitchen. Factory-made brackets are too overpriced, but you can easily make them yourself. We have described several methods below.

LCD TV Bracket

Based on the type of construction, the bracket is divided into two types:

  • The fixed screen, which mounts the equipment motionless to the wall, cannot tilt or rotate the screen, but the mounting system is very simple;
  • Rotating - is a design that allows you to move the TV body by turning it in the desired direction. Some types of design also provide for changing the vertical angle of the screen, which is very convenient when the TV weighs high.
Fixed type wall bracket

As mentioned above, the fixed bracket is attached very simply and does not require large material costs for components that are easy to find.

Almost all you need is two wooden planks, preferably from hardwood. In length they should be 10 or 15 centimeters longer than the back wall of the TV case. To keep the screen at a slight angle, you can take top bar a couple of centimeters thicker than the bottom one.

Two self-tapping screws with a ring are screwed to the upper edge of the planks, as shown below.

The slats are secured with bolts to the back wall of the TV at the top and bottom. The distance between the rings and between the boards is carefully measured in order to project the location of the rings on the wall. At these points, hooks are attached to the wall, on which the structure is suspended.

This mounting system is very reliable, easy to use and suitable for large screen models with a diagonal of 26 inches or larger.

Swivel bracket

LCD displays have limited viewing angles, so a wall bracket with rotating mechanism will provide convenient viewing from any part of the room.

You will need two plates made of metal, plastic or wood. The size depends on the dimensions of the TV; the larger and heavier it is, the larger the plates should be. For small model plates 20*20 cm and thickness 8 mm are suitable. One plate will be attached to the wall, and the second to the TV.

Fastening will be provided by four metal corners, two for each plate. A piece of pipe will be responsible for rotary and inclined movements, it is better to take a profile square shape to make it easier to fasten it, fit size 2*2 cm.

We screw two corners to the plate so that the pipe fits between them and it can rotate freely. The pipe itself is installed between the corners on a long bolt, as indicated in the drawing, and secured with nuts.

On a plate that is attached to the wall, the corners should be fixed parallel to the floor, which will allow the structure to be moved to the right and left. On the second plate, which is attached to the TV, the corners are fixed perpendicular to the floor so that you can adjust the angle of the screen.

For greater maneuverability, you can use two sections of pipe, which are interconnected with a long bolt and secured with nuts, as shown in the drawing. This technique will allow you to adjust the distance from the wall to the TV.

How to make a wall bracket for a CRT TV

CRT TVs are thicker and heavier than LCDs, with the same diagonal dimensions. As a rule, such TVs are mounted on the wall to save space in the apartment.

Due to its dimensions, mounting to the rear wall of the case is considered unsafe, so we will consider the structure wall bracket with a stand on which the TV is mounted. According to the principle of its structure, it is similar to the previous version of the rotating design for the LCD display.

You will need:

  • A stand that matches the size of the TV. It is better to make it from a sheet of metal so that it can withstand loads well;
  • Long metal corner;
  • Metal square profile;
  • Four metal corners for attaching the pipe;
  • The plate for attaching the structure to the wall is better if it is made of metal.
Assembling the shelf and fasteners for it

To keep the TV from falling, a long corner is attached to the sheet of metal on which it will be installed. It is necessary, since in the future the stand will be at a slight angle.

Two smaller corners are attached to the bottom of the stand; they are screwed with countersunk bolts, perpendicular to the direction of the wall. Between them a long bolt is installed square pipe. To strengthen the structure, you can screw a washer between the corner and the pipe.

Tilt the stand at the desired angle and firmly tighten the nuts that secure the pipe. Make sure you screw everything tightly, otherwise the weight of the TV may cause the stand to tilt and cause it to fall.

Attaching the structure to the wall

The procedure is the same as described above. We screw two corners parallel to the plane of the floor to a small plate. Between them we fix the square profile with a long bolt. The plate is screwed to the wall with self-tapping screws, one fastener for each corner.
