Arched doorway made of wood. How to build a garden wooden arch with your own hands - classic and unusual ideas. Photos of beautiful wooden and plasterboard interior arches

Garden arch - a simple design for vertical gardening or lighting in the garden. Forged and stone products look aristocratic, even majestic. Wooden or wicker structures look unusual, but at the same time homely. They are used both as an independent decorative element and in combination with other items.

As a result, you can create a prototype of a real paradise with majestic living gates. Their shape and material largely depend on the design of the garden itself, as well as the design style of the surrounding buildings. Before you make an arch with your own hands, you need to familiarize yourself with the popular types, materials and requirements for them.

Features of arches

Before starting work, you need to think about their purpose. In some cases, mansion owners use such structures as:

  1. Plants densely entwine the products, creating luxurious shade. So, under this shelter you can put a table.
  2. Transitions. When the dacha plot is very large, such transitions create an effect of mystery and serve as an excellent addition to the garden.
  3. separating zone. For example, when you need to distinguish between exotic varieties of trees or certain vacation spots.

It is worth considering that the chosen material and dimensions of the arched structure depend on the load that will be exerted by the weight of the plant or a set of light bulbs (lanterns).

On some of them, the owners decide to attach hammocks, as well as children's swings. These interior items differ from each other in the shape and width of the opening.
Designers created the following types arches:

  • classic (oval or semicircular);
  • modern;
  • triangular;
  • trapezoid;
  • romance (rounded edges);
  • portal (sharp corners);
  • abstract shape (half-arch).

Requirements

This building is a real find for summer cottage. It performs dozens of useful functions. In this regard, a number of important requirements are put forward to them:

It can be installed between a fence or decorative wall. Also, the plants should beautifully entwine the product.

Materials for arches. Their features

The main task of this design is to fit harmoniously into the overall idea of the front garden. To do this, you need to correctly calculate its size and determine the design. In the exterior of small and medium-sized areas, arches made of wood or other materials with the following parameters look original:

  • height ranging from 2.3 m to 3.3 m;
  • width – 1.5 m;
  • the depth depends on the type of vegetation.

For small blooms, structures with a depth of 50 cm are suitable, and for large or fruitful plants - more than 70 cm.

If the area is large, then several structures can be installed along the path. In addition, it is recommended to purchase more massive products for such areas. To make them yourself, you will need professional equipment and step-by-step instructions. Therefore, many people decide to simply order them. Build an arch for climbing plants can be from:

  • wood;
  • vines;
  • metal;
  • plastic.

Brick or stone act as independent elements of the landscape interior. Unusual red brick compositions look original. The structure may have a twisted shape, which gives it pomp.
At the same time, majestic arches of polished white stone create an atmosphere medieval Europe, reminiscent of the castles of emperors. However, each material has its own characteristics.

Wooden arches

This is the most universal look material. Wooden structures fit perfectly into any artistic landscape idea. Among other things, they can always be supplemented with other items, creating the ideal composition of the exterior. So, a bench or table made of granite will make a successful match wooden gates Raya. However, the service life of such products is short. To make them last as long as possible, you need to do the following:

  1. Before painting, treat the wood with an antiseptic. This is the prevention of mold, rot and insect infestation.
  2. Use only well-dried boards and beams. Otherwise, after installation under certain loads (temperature changes), they will immediately begin to deform.
  3. When painting, use only high-quality paint. There is no need to skimp on this.

Except natural wood, you can use lumber - MDF and chipboard. These are durable and waterproof materials. Their surface lends itself ideally to decoration.

Thus, pergolas and arches made of wood for summer cottages take first place in the ranking of budget and universal design items. At the same time, they bring a special idyll to the plot.

Plastic

Manufacturers create hundreds of exquisite arch models from this material. The shape of the arch can be oval, square, diamond-shaped or rectangular. Color solutions There are very few such designs, mostly white or beige. Moreover, they are installed quite simply and quickly. The cost of such products is low, so they are very popular. The disadvantages of plastic include:

  • short service life;
  • not the strength of the material (it cracks in the cold, so you need to remove it from the yard for the winter);
  • cannot be used as supports for a bench or mini-fence;
  • insufficient weight of the structure (in strong winds it may collapse);
  • flammable material (mounted 10-15 m from sources of ignition - barbecue, stove).

A plastic garden arch is easy to maintain because it is not affected by rust and rot. Such designs can be easily washed with soapy water. They are also mobile, so they can be easily moved around different places front garden

You can collect such props yourself. It's enough to find required quantity plastic pipes and planks. Then draw up a diagram and assemble the product using special fasteners.

Metal

You can make exquisite patterns from metal that will look presentable in the lush thickets of the garden. When the plant wraps around an iron arc, you get an amazing composition. If you wish, you can order chic garden arches made of metal. They are made either forged or welded. These may be the following details:

  • rods;
  • metal sheets or profiles;
  • tubes of different diameters.

This type of decorative structure is driven into the ground using long pins. This increases their resistance to abnormal natural phenomena. Among the advantages of garden metal products you can note:

  1. Durability. Serve for more than 10 years.
  2. Strength. Withstand heavy loads. Do not deteriorate from snow or rain. Transfer sharp changes temperatures
  3. Amazing decor. Only from metal can you get luxurious patterns, and even plot designs. At the same time, designers boldly combine metal bases with stone and wood. The result is majestic, massive arches.

However, luxury items also have their drawbacks. If you do not regularly touch up peeling or rusty areas, the product will deteriorate. To do this, you need to prime the surface once a year, and then apply at least 2 layers of paint or varnish. This procedure serves as a reliable prevention against corrosion.

Made from natural stone

Arched stone structures have served their owners for centuries. The only thing that can happen to them is that they will become covered with moss or have some mechanical damage.
Only a professional mason can build such an architectural miracle (the shape of the vault is rounded or non-standard). To make a straight canopy yourself, you need to use special diagrams or drawings. The following materials are used for such structures:

  • natural shaped cobblestones;
  • artificial stones;
  • facing brick.

These construction masterpieces do not require additional decoration with flowers or other types of vegetation. They charmingly decorate ponds and garden alleys.

Arches workshop

You can mount such an arch yourself with step by step instructions, a photo of which is given below. Available home handyman could be like wooden beams or boards or metal rods. In addition, you need to have a set of tools, fasteners (screws, nails, screws and bolts), as well as the usual intelligence.

Installation of a wooden arch

First, it is important to think about the desired shape of the arch. The most time-consuming step is creating the arc. It can consist of several parts or be one-piece. First of all, you need to make a drawing or design diagram, then proceed to the selection quality material. So, the following materials are used for work:

  • deciduous trees (birch, oak);
  • fir;
  • softwood lumber.

In addition, you can make a structure from ordinary straight branches or trunks. The result will be a unique exhibit in country style.

These tree species are least susceptible to rotting and are resistant to humid climates. However, before painting they must be treated with antiseptic agents. Then, step by step, the following work is performed:

Be sure to apply an antiseptic composition to the wood to prevent rotting.

Six steps and the masterpiece is ready for use. The wood must be sanded or sanded, and then several layers of paint must be applied. This structure will enliven the front garden and give it a stunning look.

Plants for arch decoration

Owners need to decide what they want in their garden. This could be an arch for grapes (maidenhair) or ivy. Many housewives prefer magnificent or spectacular climbing rose.
In such cases, you can successfully experiment with different shades of plants. In the upper part of the arch, an elegant morning glory can grow, which surprises with its fiery red (purple) flowers. Near the bases, on both sides, they plant white rose. These two shades complement each other well.

You should not pile up elegant forged items with massive curly flowers. At the same time, a large arched structure with sophisticated and delicate vegetation will look very rough.

Everything should be in the same style. Two, or at most three varieties of landscaping will be enough for one garden arch. As a result, everyone will be able to enjoy the lovely gateway to their own piece of paradise.

An arch can be an excellent replacement for a regular one interior door or act as a delimiter functional zones in the house. It protects the opening and carries a decorative load. You can make a wooden arch with your own hands. The process is not complicated and does not require special tools.

Materials for manufacturing

To make an arch, it is not necessary to use wood. Manufacturers offer more advanced substitutes. One such material is fiberboard or MDF.

Fiberboard is better protected from impact external factors and wear, while visually it may not have any differences with wood.

The manufacturing process is also no different. The main requirement for interior arches– prepare the opening correctly. When taking measurements and cutting, make sure that all parts fall into place when assembling the structure.

Project selection

  • rectangle;
  • classic rounded portal;
  • ellipse;
  • circle;
  • trapezoid;
  • broken configuration;
  • asymmetrical project.

The simplest rectangular model can be assembled from its frame, that is, using platbands and a set of extensions. Designs with bent elements will require patience and correct calculations. If you are not sure that you can make parts for complex arch models, it is better to stick with the classic version.

Markings and drawings

To mark, use a level and some object round shape as a template. To begin, determine the height and width of the opening, mark these data on paper, and draw the corresponding lines on the wall.

For a standard arch you will need:

  • sets of platbands on both sides;
  • two sidewalls;
  • roundings for corners;
  • top cross bar.

Making straight parts should not cause any problems, but curves can be made using a template. Use it to draw the contours along which you will need to cut the opening for further installation arches.

When marking, take into account the thickness of the parts and additional finishing, since this area will be taken up by the design.

Cutting elements

When making an arch from wood, cutting is best done using a jigsaw. This tool does not leave nicks on the edges of parts and quickly copes with any shapes and types of materials. For convenience, full-size patterns are placed on the solid canvas.

After cutting the parts, you need to carefully sand their surface on all sides. This is done with a sander or fine sandpaper.

Assembly

Once the parts are prepared, you can begin assembling the structure. First you need to install the straight elements of the arch; they are fixed strictly according to the marks and taking into account the level.

Ideally, the surface of the opening is puttied in advance so that the arch can later be assembled with minimal costs effort.

If distortions remain, it is recommended to fasten the wood or fiberboard not with glue, but with a frame, under which, if necessary, insulation is laid. It can be made from wooden blocks, but since the use of shaped elements is most often assumed, it is better to use metal profiles.

After fixing the sidewalls and the upper straight bar, the turn of roundings comes, they are driven into free space and fix it. The junction of the arch with the wall is hidden by platbands on both sides or is made finishing work plaster.

If the arch is assembled from additional panels and platbands, it will be even easier to make. The use of telescopic models is assumed here.

Treatment

Final design doorways and arches is to disguise joints and fastenings. The wood must be treated with an antiseptic before installation. The fiberboard will most likely already be impregnated with protective substances.

The best option is to open it with stain and varnish.

If you are afraid that the coating may be damaged during installation, carry out the work after installing the arch. According to the rules, you need to prepare the details in advance. The stain is applied at the very beginning, then the varnish is used in two or three layers, alternating the direction of the brush.

An alternative option for wood and MDF is painting. You can cover the parts with veneer, laminate or PVC. This should be done immediately after cutting onto a cleaned and degreased surface.

The arch is an original and complementary element of any apartment or house.

Arch is an architectural element in the form of a curved covering of a blind or through opening in the wall. They can be used as a structural architectural element, or as a purely decorative element.

Most often in residential premises the arch is made of plasterboard and left in this form:

We propose to make it more complete and beautiful by surrounding it. In our case, we made DIY wooden arch under an opening 30 cm wide.

First you need to trim the wane pine boards using a circular saw, then process the edge on a jointer, and also level it on a surface planer.

After this, cut the board into 30 mm thick blocks and calibrate them on a surface planer.

Now you need to make a template that will repeat the thickness of the opening and the radius of the arch, which should be 1-2 cm smaller (so that the arch can then be inserted into the opening without any problems). For the template we use drywall, which we connect together wooden frame. There is no need to copy the entire arch - only the upper part.

When the template is ready, cut our blanks into bars equal to the width of the template.

Then we lubricate the sides of each block with glue and join them together on the template.

After the glue has dried, remove the arch from the template and glue it reverse side. For strengthening we use pieces of fabric.

We place the arch back into the template and begin sanding.

Now it’s the turn of the arched casing. It will also be made of pieces. To do this, they need to be cut at such an angle that when joined they repeat the radius of the arch.

Lubricate the joints with glue and let dry.

The next day we sand the casing, then trim the edges with a jigsaw and fillet the outer edge with a hand router.

Now you can attach the platband on both sides to the arch. After this, go over the inner edge with a sander and fill it up.

Then we make the panel.

We insert the panels into the binding and glue them. After this, we nail the vertical trim on each side. Interior the racks should be 0.5-1 cm larger than the thickness of the opening.

These are the two racks we ended up with.

The last step will be making the outline. We glue it together from 3 parts. In our case it looks like this:

After painting all the elements of the arch, you can begin installation. First, the arched part is installed, then the racks, and after that the edging.

The end result looked like this DIY wooden arch:

An original wooden arch with your own hands will become great decoration for an apartment. If it is made in violation of technology, it will ruin the expensive interior. Creation requires certain skills:

  • Ability to work with wood, cardboard, drywall;
  • Carrying out calculations.

Demand for a decorative arch

Wooden interior arches are usually made in the following cases:

  • To hide a defect in the doorway from prying eyes;
  • To design a non-standard version of the opening between opposite walls;
  • To create a certain style in a room;
  • For problems with air movement.

The rooms are installed to protect against drafts and increase the sound insulation of the premises. Therefore, before you start making wooden arches, it is necessary to analyze the feasibility of this decision.

What is required for the work

To make interior arches from wood or plywood, you will need certain tools and Additional materials. To build a wooden arch you will need:

  • Wooden blocks;
  • Sheets of plywood with a thickness ranging from 18 to 21 mm (4-5 pieces);
  • Plywood sheets with a thickness of 3 mm (4-5 pieces);
  • Self-tapping screws;
  • Finishing nails;
  • Mastic;
  • Polyurethane foam;
  • Water based varnish.

For execution installation work The following tools are needed:

  1. Hammer;
  2. Electric drill, set of wood drills;
  3. Electric jigsaw;
  4. Sander;
  5. Building level;
  6. Pencil;
  7. Twine.

Creating a plywood template

Interior arches must be built with your own hands in stages. Initially, you should prepare high-quality templates. The final result will depend on this - a do-it-yourself interior arch.

Arches involves the following work:

  1. To make a template from plywood, you need to saw off 6-10 cm. The length of the workpiece should exceed the width of the door opening by a third. In the absence of plywood required length, it is necessary to join two workpieces together, and fasten the joint using a strip, bolts, nuts;
  2. The finished strip is applied between opposite parts of the opening. The curvature option is selected individually, fixation is performed using a tight rope (pre-threaded into special holes made at the ends of the strip). The strength of the structure is imparted by means of a longitudinal rail, which is secured with self-tapping screws;
  3. The next stage of DIY production will be cutting out the arched casing. Thick plywood sheet placed on a horizontal surface, placed on top ready template. Use a pencil to mark the outline of the lower part, then move 10 cm upward and draw the upper outline;
  4. The future is cut out according to the markings made, for this you will need electric jigsaw. Two identical blanks are made equal length and width, and then glued together using a certain glue. All irregularities must be removed using a milling cutter, sandpaper, file;
  5. An important step in installing an arch with your own hands is preparing the vertical trims. The finished arch design involves four vertical platbands. On thick plywood you need to come up with markings: width - 10 cm, height - 20 cm more from the right size. The sections are sawed off, if necessary, joining, grinding, and edge processing with a cutter are performed;
  6. When creating a bent vault for, it is better to use thick plywood. Otherwise finished design will look too “budgetary”. To obtain bent plywood, you need to make longitudinal cuts on the workpiece (with a saw or cutter). The greater the curvature, the more cuts needed;
  7. Before installing the plywood arch, it is necessary to make side fragments vertical racks. Markings should be made on the plywood. Using a jigsaw, boards are cut with a width equal to the arc of the arch;
  8. The finished parts are polished, excess is removed, and cuts must be made at a certain angle using a miter box.

To begin with, it is advisable to take a small fragment old plywood and, first practice on it.

To make bending the material easier, you can soak or steam it before bending. Before bending, the grooves of the template must be coated with glue; excess glue is removed with a soft rag

Installation features

This stage is considered by professionals to be the most important. The final result depends on the correct fastening of the parts:

  • Gaps between in separate parts removed with special mastic. You can fasten the arch using decorative nails and self-tapping screws, covering their caps with decorative polymer caps;
  • Arch parts can be fastened using polyurethane foam. Until the foam hardens, attach the parts to the rack spacers. To attach the platbands and the vault, you will need decorative nails without ordinary heads.

  • To eliminate defects in the door opening, you can use a decorative arch;
  • When selecting the shape of the arch and the raw materials for it, you should take into account overall design premises;
  • If you do not have the skills to build an arch, it is better to seek help from professional builders.

Arch made of building bricks

During the process of repair and construction, problems arise that are associated with covering and decorating various openings. To eliminate defects in windows and windows, beautiful brick arches are used. They decorate facades and modernize the interior of residential buildings. Beautiful arch made of brick should be a fairly symmetrical structure. To ensure that the brick arch is strong, use a side brace.

Brick structures differ in:

  • Wedge, during installation of which the bricks are laid out in a wedge;
  • Onion beams, which involve arc-shaped laying of parts;
  • Full options provide for laying bricks in the form of a semicircle, ½ the width of the entire opening.

Any brick arch has some unique parameters and disadvantages; significant differences in their construction are not expected.

How to make a brick arch

The following algorithm of actions is used:

  1. Creation of the design and blank of the vault element;
  2. Installation of preliminary preparation;
  3. Creating a durable arched structure;
  4. Fastening the finished system;
  5. Removing the template;
  6. Final processing of the arch.

To make a high-quality template, use chipboard sheets or wooden blocks. It is important to calculate the size of the future system so that it can be appearance and durability met expectations.

  • The center of the arch is applied to the chipboard, the upper and lower points are marked, after which they are connected. As a result, an incomplete semicircle is obtained;
  • Two circles are cut out using the finished markings. Then they are connected with bolts and bars. This gives the actual size of the arch. The template is placed in the opening, after which it is fixed with bars and supports;
  • Before laying out the arch, you need to install special fines that easily clamp the arch. The design must be done on both sides at once, moving from bottom to top. The brick “lock” is placed on top of the arch. It securely fixes the entire system, giving it strength and reliability;
  • Once the arch is clamped, you can remove the template and clean the surface. To give the masonry a neat appearance, all seams are leveled and the remaining working mortar is removed from the front of the masonry.

The template must be made 3-5 cm smaller than the width of the opening along the height of the arch itself, in this case there will be no problems with removing the structure when it has fulfilled its functional purpose.

Materials for construction

When installing brick arches use:

  • Wedge brick. Its shape is a regular trapezoid, which improves the fixation of the entire structure. Such material can be found in specialized stores;
  • Fastening ready-made systems performed using a solution. For furnace systems prepare a mixture of clay and fireclay sand containing inclusions in the form of gravel (particle diameter does not exceed 0.8 cm).

Problems during creation

As you can see, laying an arch out of brick is not difficult. If all calculations are made accurately and the installation technology is fully followed, the result will pleasantly please its owner. Structural destruction is possible for the following reasons:

  • The height of the arch itself is insufficient in comparison with the width of the opening, the load is unevenly distributed, and numerous cracks appear;
  • When using durable metal frames to develop the primary template, standard shrinkage of the structure does not occur, and there is a high probability of its deformation;
  • If the primary workpiece is not removed in a timely manner, the wood absorbs moisture, swells, and excess stress appears;
  • A poor-quality foundation “sinks” into the building, causing deformation of the arched structure.

Formation of a plasterboard arch

Drywall is an affordable material, so it is often used to decorate interior doorways. Special construction and finishing skills are not needed to work with drywall. When working with drywall, you can adhere to the following order:

  1. The shape of the arch is selected taking into account the specifics of the room. The sketch must be detailed, contain parameters of rounding, height, degree of curvature of the structure;
  2. systems. Using putty, building level, aligned side walls. If you use plasterboard for leveling, the size of the room will decrease by 5-10 cm. The walls are leveled so that when installing metal profile, there was no deformation;
  3. The finished sketch is transferred to the walls using a pencil or marker;
  4. Installed aluminum profile. The profile is attached so that after installing the plasterboard sheets, arched design did not “crawl” out of the room. Self-installation interior arch involves working with an assistant, fixing it alone metal carcass uncomfortable;
  5. The arc of the metal profile should be such that its center coincides with the mark made on the wall. The quality and strength of the entire arch system depends on accuracy;
  6. The final step is attaching the drywall sheets. Pieces of cardboard are attached to self-tapping screws, then the joints of the drywall are puttied.

At the sketch development stage, it is better to contact professional designer and choose a form future design together with him to avoid troubles and misunderstandings

Doorways in a house do not always imply the presence of doors. Wood trim on arches is often used. This method of designing a doorway allows you to make the corridor or rooms in a private house, apartment or office visually larger and brighter. This question is quite relevant. And for those who want to remake a doorway with their own hands, it is very important to know how to make a wooden arch yourself. Making interior wooden arches is not an easy process, but still doable. In this article I will tell you how to make an arch with your own hands, and then install it correctly.

Such designs are divided into types according to their shape and style.

  1. Classic. A classic arch is usually called a semicircle or arc. This look fits perfectly into any environment, be it a residential building or an office building.
  2. Arches in the Art Nouveau style are considered modern. The look is a little similar to the classic one, the only difference is its shape, since it top part looks like a circle. If you add a little imagination, you can add a little romance (make it in the form of a rectangle and round its corners). This option is ideal for wide doorways.
  3. For rooms with spacious rooms There is a type of arches that has the shape of a semi-ellipse.
  4. The most common types of Art Nouveau arches are trapezoids. They look special when installed when moving from one room to another.
  5. Exclusive options require a wild imagination, as they can have non-standard forms. If a person wants to create in his home unique design, then exclusive views for him. Here you can make broken lines and various kinds of abstractions.

Material selection

To produce a wooden arch, there are four main materials: pine, oak, beech and mahogany. Scots pine is most often used as the base material. And all because of the color of its wood. It has a pinkish core, which changes to dark red over time. Among its advantages are high density, good strength, elasticity, resistance to rotting. It is one of the cheapest finishing materials.

Oak and beech are chosen only when the apartment is already finished with something similar in style and shade. These are specific and very durable materials, they have a special color and wood. Mahogany is the most expensive, it looks very rich and serious. Often this material is chosen when a wooden arch is needed in the office of a large company. For residential premises, the material is used less frequently. As for the remaining materials in order to decorate the interior doorway, it can also be plasterboard with additional finishing wallpaper, and plastic panels, and glass. The choice is very wide, the decision is only up to the home owner.

Manufacturing

Depending on what type of arch you want to make with your own hands, you need to do some work. Let's look at the most typical options:

  • Interior wooden arches of oval, round or rounded shape are made by connecting small parts. You need to prepare a slightly rounded beam, which you will then connect into a whole product. You can glue them together, or you can connect them with metal staples. The wooden look of the arches will then have to be thoroughly cleaned and sanded so that there are no burrs or irregularities left.
  • Make a wooden arch square shape or with sharp corners does not require any special explanation, since its manufacture does not require much knowledge. You can connect straight parts, as in the previous version - special glue or staples, wood lends itself quite well to any type of connection.
  • Wooden arches can be of a shape that combines both the first and second types. In this case, it is worth combining both methods: prepare small timber about 10-20 centimeters long for ovals and large, flat ones for other parts.

Preparing the opening

In order for the arch to fit into the opening without unnecessary problems, especially when wood is chosen for its manufacture, and you decide to do all the work yourself, you will have to carefully prepare the wall and the installation site.

It is worth removing everything unnecessary from the walls where the arch is attached - wallpaper, panels, paint. Clean the wall and level it. If the wooden interior arches have an oval format, and the old opening is square, then it needs to be converted into an oval. To do this, you can use additional brick, stone (do masonry), add a plasterboard frame, etc. It all depends on desire. The main thing is that the size of the resulting opening coincides with the parameters by which the arch was made.

Installation

In order for the arch to install well, it is worth preparing wood screws, special glue, a screwdriver, and possibly dowels. When you insert wooden look arches in the door - check if everything is correct:

  • the arch should not look beyond the edges of the walls;
  • she should not hide behind the edge of the wall, everything becomes level.

Wooden arches between rooms should be installed so as not to damage their structure. It is necessary to screw the arch elements with self-tapping screws to the wall to strengthen the structure. If formed empty seats– they can be puttied or foamed. But this will be a minus of the design.

Finishing

Once the arch is installed, it's time to finish it properly. If you made the opening itself using drywall, then before installing the structure, it was worth covering it with wallpaper or performing other cladding. The wooden type of arches must be varnished or painted. This way, you can protect the structure from aging and fading, and it will serve for many years.

At the end of the work, you need to check whether there are any disadvantages on the arch itself - dents, irregularities, chips. If they are detected, it is necessary to eliminate them as much as possible using finishing, which is selected. When you make an arch in a house or apartment, remember that the wooden type of openings will always be the best option, since it is environmentally friendly. The wear resistance and durability of wood makes it very good option for work in houses.

Be careful at every moment when you make and install an arch with your own hands, and you will succeed. Good luck!
