How to start a chainsaw of various brands. Step-by-step instructions on how to start a chainsaw in the summer or winter season How to turn on and operate a chainsaw correctly

Not all beginners, having picked up this tool for the first time, know how to start a chainsaw. Especially in special situations, for example in the winter season. In addition, even the highest quality tools must be handled properly to avoid breakage or accidents. Despite the wide range of different models, they all start in approximately the same way.

How to start a chainsaw

Before starting the tool, you should carefully study the working area and safety rules. The chainsaw start-up algorithm consists of the following steps:

  1. Press the chain brake forward, activating it. Remove the protection from the tire.
  2. If there is a decompression valve or fuel pump, then press it.
  3. Set the combination lever to the cold start (throttle) position.
  4. Place the chainsaw on a level surface so that its cutting edge does not touch the ground.
  5. Grab the handle with your left hand and the starter cable with your right. Place the toe of the right foot on the rear handle to ensure the stability of the tool.
  6. Gently pull the starter cable until there is a distinct resistance, then pull it sharply several times so that the engine starts for a short time.
  7. Open the throttle by moving the combination lever one detent position to half throttle.
  8. Pull the cable again and at the moment the engine starts, press the gas lever. This moves the combination lever to the normal idle position.
  9. Raise the chainsaw carefully without touching the engine control lever.
  10. Pull the chain brake handle towards you until you hear a distinct click, which indicates that the chain is unlocked and able to move on the bar.

It is also possible to start a chainsaw by holding it between your knees. At the same time, regardless of the chosen method of starting the saw, according to the instructions, the chain brake must always be on.

Sometimes a gasoline saw that is not equipped with a manual priming pump will not start after a long period of inactivity. In this case, it is necessary to remove the air filter cover, remove the filter element and, using a syringe, pour a few drops of gasoline directly into the carburetor. After about 30 seconds, vapors form and you can pull the starter handle. In extreme cases, you can use a more radical method - remove the spark plug, pour a few drops of gasoline into the cylinder and screw the spark plug back in.

How to start in winter

In winter, in the cold, the chainsaw starts up much more difficult. If, after the initial flashes, the air damper is opened, then due to poor evaporation of gasoline, the engine may not start or immediately stall. Then you have to start and warm it up on suction.

Therefore, in winter, the tool or at least the fuel mixture should be stored in a warm room. This is especially true for a chainsaw with a bar and chain already on. If left outside, the low temperature will shrink the chain and cause damage to the tool when started.

Some models are equipped with the ability to switch the air intake to summer and winter modes.

At the same time, in winter, the intake is made above the exhaust manifold or cylinder, which prevents the carburetor and air filter from freezing even in the coldest weather.

The correct start of the chainsaw is one of the most important steps in working with this tool. The productivity of sawing, the wear of moving elements and the overall duration of operation depend on compliance with the rules. When working with any model, it is important to be able to carry out the first start, diagnose the main problems, as well as correctly select and fill in the fuel mixture. From the article you will learn how to start a chainsaw and independently check its functionality.

Chainsaw and two-stroke engine devices

By design, all models of modern chainsaws are a mechanism launched by an internal combustion engine. This is usually a single-cylinder, two-stroke version that lacks the classic gearbox. Its function is performed by a single-stage chain drive, which drives the saw set. The main components of the chainsaw design:

  • membrane type carburetor;
  • ignition;
  • fuel system;
  • starter;
  • air purification unit;
  • chain and tire;
  • chain brake (contact and inertial);
  • tension mechanism;
  • Lubrication system.
Figure 1 - External chainsaw device

Chainsaws are equipped with a centrifugal clutch, which is activated automatically depending on the engine speed. With sufficient power, special elements are pressed against the inside of the drum, setting the drive sprocket in motion. The advantage of such a mechanism is that when the saw is jammed in the cut, the clutch begins to slip, reducing the risk of breakage of internal mechanisms.

Important! The internal combustion engine in chainsaws has a maximum speed of up to 13.5 thousand per minute. The quality of its work directly depends on the fuel mixture, oil.

How to start a chainsaw?

For most European models, the starting system and starter have a similar device, the mechanism of operation. The exception is the old chainsaws of domestic production (Ural, Lesnik). On the body there is a handle through which the cable is passed. If it is raised, the cable engages with the ratchet drum, several revolutions of the crankshaft occur. At the same time, the fuel is ejected and ignited with a candle, after which the chainsaw starts. To simplify the start in high-quality chainsaw models, the following mechanisms can be implemented:

  • installation of a damper in the carburetor for preliminary enrichment of the fuel mixture;
  • a decompression valve that reduces the working pressure in the engine cylinder;
  • a spring that, while moving the cable, simplifies the unwinding of the crankshaft;
  • additional fuel pump (usually found in American manufacturers).

The starter is constantly subjected to dynamic loading. Because of this, it can fail at any time right during launch. With frequent use of the saw, it is recommended to carry out preventive maintenance at least once a year. Replacing the cord in the starter is recommended to be carried out only by two people, since it is required to securely fix the spring.

Launch preparation

Before starting the chainsaw for the first time, check the condition of the saw set and the quality of the tension of the bolts on the body. After that, prepare the fuel mixture in the proportion specified by the manufacturer, correctly pour it into the tool tank. You can not start work without making sure that the device is in full working order - this can lead to breakage of expensive elements, serious injuries.

Fuel mixture preparation

Picture 2 - Filling with fuel mixture

Both break-in and continuous operation require two-stroke engine oil. It is better to purchase brands designed for specific chainsaw models. The proportions for preparing the fuel mixture for each saw are indicated in the operating instructions; on average, it is recommended to mix at the rate of 1:33. For old domestic chainsaws, the mixture is prepared in a ratio of 1:15.

Important! Leaded fuel is used to refuel chainsaws with an engine without a catalyst. Its presence can be identified by the green cap of the gas tank; for models with a catalyst, unleaded gasoline is required.

Refueling

The dressing mixture is recommended to be prepared in a metal container. First, pour the required amount of oil, and then dilute it with gasoline and bring to a smooth consistency. Carefully pour the prepared composition into the chainsaw tank, trying not to stain the body, screw the lid tightly. The finished mixture can be stored for no more than 30 days, after which the oxidation process starts. At the same time as refueling, it is recommended to check the oil tank for chain lubrication, top it up if necessary.

Checking chain tension

To check the chain tension on the saw set, it is enough to pull it with your fingers in the middle part of the bar. Link shanks, when correctly installed, should not protrude from the grooves by more than a third of the length. The chain should move smoothly along the bar without much effort, if movement is difficult, the tension should be loosened.

Figure 3 - Checking the chain tension

It is easy to regulate the voltage of this element in chainsaws on your own using a special wing bolt on the body. Some models have two bolts, less often a tightening wrench is required - you should carefully read the instructions before starting operation.

How to turn on the chainsaw?

After preparing the tool for sawing and filling the fuel tank, you can proceed directly to the start. It should be remembered that after purchasing a chainsaw, a run-in is required - starting at idle, cutting wood (up to 10 cm in diameter) at medium speeds. Foreign models reach full capacity after 5-7 tanks are used up, old domestic saws are run in with partial load within 24 hours (3-4 full refuelings). During this period, it is strictly forbidden to heat the engine, allow prolonged idling and give maximum loads when sawing.

Launch Stages

After all the checks, you can run the tool for further work. To do this, the saw must be placed on a stable surface so that the bar does not touch the ground. Step by step algorithm:

  1. Disengage the chain brake using the handle on the chainsaw body.
  2. Turn on the ignition by pressing the button or switch (usually this is the extreme left position).
  3. Move the air damper to the closed position. Pull out the throttle lever, lock it in an intermediate position.
  4. Take the front handle with your left hand, slightly press it to the bottom. Step on the protective shield of the right handle with your foot.
  5. With the second free hand of the plans, pull the starter handle towards you until the pawls in the ratchet mechanism engage the drum clutch. Make a sharp jump.
  6. After the first flash in the ignition chamber, turn the air damper to its original position. Run the saw again.

After the engine starts, give full throttle and fully release the throttle lever. Normally, the trigger unit should automatically disengage.

Important! The starting position of the saw depends on the specific model as well as your dominant hand. Compact versions of this tool can be started by weight.

Features of starting with a cold and hot engine

To start the engine, several processes simultaneously occur in the device at once. The supply of the fuel mixture to the engine piston begins, it is compressed and ignited by the spark of the candle. At the same time, the quality of the air mixture differs when starting with a cold and hot internal combustion engine.

If in a warm state a normal level of air is enough, then in a cold state it is not enough. In such a situation, it is required to pull the starter many times, which leads to wear of its cable. To regulate the supply of air mass in the carburetor there is a special damper. In cold weather, it must be fully opened, if necessary, pump fuel directly into the carburetor using a primer. This will speed up the start of the chainsaw and reduce the risk of damage to its main components.

How to hold the tool?

There are several methods for holding a chainsaw to start. The easiest option is to place the tool on a flat surface, grab the upper handle with your left hand, holding the protection with your foot. The second way is to hold the upper handle of the saw with your hand, and fasten the back part between your legs. This position is only suitable for low-power and compact models of household chainsaws.

Figure 4 - How to hold a chainsaw

Checking the oil supply

To achieve the sliding of the chain on the headset, there is a special oil tank in the engine crankcase - it supplies oil to the tire. Its operation is controlled by a special pump, which starts when the engine speed increases. To check the supply and operation of the lubrication process, you need to remove the side protection of the tire, start the tool. If oil enters the headset and decreases in the tank (check with a dipstick), then no action is required. If the mixture is insufficient, it is recommended to clean or replace the filter, and then adjust the flow.

Distinctive features of winding of different brands

Some models may have a slightly different start system. The main difference is in the location of the main elements on the body (the presence or absence of a primer, the number of bolts for chain tensioning, etc.), as well as in the proportion of the fuel mixture preparation. After purchasing the tool, you should carefully read the instructions, which always indicate the algorithm for the first start-up, running-in and the frequency of preventive measures.

Important! The structural elements of Chinese chainsaws are especially often different. When choosing such a tool, you should check in advance for the availability of detailed instructions.

Features of launching in winter

Before starting work in winter, it is recommended to first bring the chainsaw into a warm room for 10-15 minutes. If this is not possible, start the tool at idle speed, pushing the air damper to the middle position. Increase engine power only after preheating. Some models have the ability to switch the air intake in summer and winter mode - this is the best solution if you often work in the forest at any time of the year.

Can it be started without a starter?

It is impossible to start a chainsaw without a starter. In the absence of this element, violations will occur in the engine cooling process, since it contains the so-called “snail”, which regulates the flow of cold air from the flywheel impeller to the internal combustion engine cylinder.

What to do if the chainsaw does not start?

There are many factors why the chainsaw does not start if the start technology is followed. The most common causes and how to fix them:

  • no spark at spark plug– replacement or drying is required if water enters;
  • fuel supply problem– blowing through the fuel hose or filter, replacement;
  • clogged fuel or air filter- Requires good cleaning.

If these simple tips do not help, a full diagnosis of the problems is needed. It is recommended to take the chainsaw to a service center where they can check the compression of the cylinder and crankcase, as well as the operation of the carburetor.

Proper starting of the chainsaw ensures stable and reliable operation of this tool. When starting, before starting sawing, you should properly prepare and fill in the fuel mixture, adjust the main structural elements. It is important to take into account the weather conditions, as well as the features of a particular model.

On all Stihl chainsaws, two-stroke engines are installed, the cold start of which has a similar algorithm. But there are models on which additional equipment is installed that allows you to start the saw without excessive effort. For this reason, their start algorithm may differ slightly.

Let's look at how to start a regular saw and how the process differs from starting a modified model.

In order to start the Stihl 180 chainsaw cold, you must follow the algorithm specified by the manufacturer in, namely:

  1. Turn on the ignition and set the engine control lever to the lowest position (in this position, the air damper blocks the air from the air filter, and the throttle is fully open, thus the fuel mixture is enriched);
  2. Pull the starter handle several times until the first flash passes (the flash indicates that the fuel mixture has entered the cylinder and the saw is ready to start);
  3. Set the control lever one position up from fully lowered (in this position, the air damper opens, and the throttle remains in the same position as before);
  4. Pull starter and start. The saw will start and will run at high speeds, due to the fact that the throttle is as open as possible. To set the damper to idle mode, you need to press the gas trigger and immediately release it, the tool immediately normalizes speed.

The chainsaw is not equipped with any additional devices that can facilitate starting as standard.

Below you can see how to start a calm 180. The video reflects in detail all the main points, and the author's comments allow you to understand the whole process to the smallest detail.

We start Calm MS 180 C

The device of this model, in comparison with the previous one, has some differences in the trigger mechanism, but it does not carry any changes in the trigger algorithm. The fact is that in calm 180 C, the ErgoStart system is installed, which, due to an additional spring installed in the chainsaw starter, reduces engine resistance during start-up.

Starting the Stihl MS 211 C-BE

The fuel supply system in the Stihl MS 211 C-BE chainsaw is additionally equipped with a manual fuel pump, which makes it easier to start the chainsaw on a cold one.

The instructions for starting this model of the Stihl chainsaw contain one additional item, which is that before starting the chainsaw on a cold one, it is necessary to pump fuel into the carburetor using a pump. Further, the instruction does not differ from the start of calm 180 and follows the same algorithm.

What happens at the moment of pumping fuel with a primer, and how does this help to start the saw more efficiently?

At the moment of starting the saw without a primer, several movements of the starter are carried out only so that the fuel pump, under the action of an impulse from the saw crankcase, pumps fuel into the carburetor.

The pump installed in the fuel line allows you to manually, without unnecessary movements by the starter, pump gasoline into the carburetor. The effect of such an action is obvious, the saw will start much faster.

Many owners of gas tools mistakenly believe that a hand pump can over-pump fuel into the carburetor and, for this reason, fill the candle. This is fundamentally wrong, because the system is able to circulate around. Excess gasoline from the carburetor will be directed, through a special hose designed for this purpose, back to the tank.

On a hot chainsaw, there is no need to use a primer, because there is enough fuel in the carburetor to start.

How to start a chainsaw with a decompression valve

Before you start the Stihl chainsaw on which the decompression valve is installed, you must turn it on. It should be noted that there is no decompression valve on the Stihl 250 saw.

After the first flash has passed, the valve will return to normal operation, so after the engine control lever is set to the open choke position and starting continues, the decompression valve must be pressed again.

Schematically, the operation of the valve is shown in the figure below.

In fact, the valve does not make starting faster, it just simplifies the process and makes it more comfortable, because. for during launch, a person will have to apply much less effort.

A saw with a decompression valve, whether the engine is cold or hot, must be started using the valve to ease the cranking force of the engine. This will significantly increase the life of the starter and reduce the number of broken laces, since it is installed on chainsaws with a large cylinder volume and, accordingly, compression.

How to start the saw after a long period of inactivity

I can not, after a long downtime. Such comments can be found on forums dedicated to the repair and operation of saws. Let's figure out how to start a chainsaw after a long period of inactivity.

The fact is that a successful start after a downtime must be taken care of in advance and properly prepare the saw for storage. According to the manufacturer's instructions, before storage, it is necessary to drain the fuel from the tank, then start the engine and burn the fuel in the fuel system.

Preparation is necessary so that during storage, the carburetor membranes do not stick together. Performing this simple operation will allow you to successfully start the saw after a long period of storage.

It is much easier to start a chainsaw six months after being idle, if immediately before starting, through the candle hole, add 1-2 ml of the fuel mixture to the cylinder. This can be done with a syringe.

Results

Starting the Stihl chainsaw almost always follows the same algorithm, with the exception of those cases when a decompression valve and a fuel primer are additionally installed on the chainsaw. These devices are designed to facilitate the starting process and do an excellent job of their functions.

Due to their affordability, chainsaws are becoming quite popular in summer cottages and in private homes. Unfortunately, their illiterate use often leads to a malfunction or serious damage.

If it is impossible to eliminate malfunctions without the intervention of specialists, then the user can overcome many problems associated, including with the failure to start the engine, on his own.

Reasons for not starting the chainsaw engine

The problems of not starting any internal combustion engine should be looked for in two directions: in the ignition circuit or in the fuel supply system.

The main reason that ordinary people do not start a chainsaw can be a violation of the order of its launch. Working with this tool is usually episodic, and users simply forget to turn on the ignition (if the device is equipped with such a button) or miss the moment of seizing the motor with the throttle closed and continue to pull the starter cord. In both cases, the result is the same - the combustion chamber is overfilled with fuel and the "fuse" after it is turned on and the throttle is opened cannot ignite the fuel.

Fixing the problem is easy. To do this, unscrew the protective cover of the cylinder, unscrew the candle. Its state will determine why the engine did not start:

  • Wet, abundantly flooded with gasoline, it indicates that everything is fine with the fuel supply and that too much was sent or something happened to the ignition. Dry the candle, insert it into the high-voltage wire connector, put the steel part on the cylinder (all metal parts of the internal combustion engine are connected to the “minus” of the power source) and pull the cord. If a spark appeared in it - there are no problems here either. It remains only to drain the excess gasoline. To do this, the saw is turned upside down with a hole and with small twitches of the same leash, the piston is idly rotated. The spark emitter is screwed into place and the start is repeated, but with the damper open.

You can not hold a candle with your hands in the process of checking it.

  • Dry - no fuel is supplied, you have to deal with this system, rinse the fuel and air filters, check the carburetor.
  • Spattered with oil, covered with black soot - excess fuel (rich mixture), the proportions of the oil-fuel mixture are violated, a lubricant not specified by the manufacturer was used. In this case, it is washed with gasoline, the contacts are cleaned with sandpaper, the required gap of 0.5-0.6 mm is set and screwed into place, and then they deal with the composition of the fuel.

The next reason why the engine does not start is the result of the use of low-quality fuels and lubricants, when soot clogs the muffler so much that it makes it difficult for exhaust gases to escape. If it is disassembled, it should be unwound and washed. Otherwise, disconnect by plugging the hole on the motor with a clean rag so that dirt does not get in, clean separately and dry with a hair dryer. As a rule, cleaning only the exhaust system does not end in such cases - you have to flush the entire fuel system.

A breather clogged with dirt will also not allow the engine to start. It is located on the cap of the fuel tank and is a valve that equalizes air pressure so that fuel can flow into the carburetor. It is easy to identify a malfunction, just disconnect the fuel hose from it, and if gasoline flows poorly from the tube, in an intermittent stream or does not run at all, then the valve hole is clogged. It is cleaned with a needle or blown with compressed air.

Starting a chainsaw is also prevented by misadjustment of the settings, the sure signs of which are:

  • the engine does not start or starts and immediately stalls - there is not enough fuel, the air-fuel mixture is lean;
  • thick smoke at the exhaust, high fuel consumption - there is a glut of fuel, fills the candles with gasoline (rich composition).

Do-it-yourself carburetor adjustment

You can adjust the carburetor with three screws:

  • "L" - adjusts the low gas by changing the fuel supply.
  • "H" - changes the quality of the fuel mixture, on which high speeds depend.
  • "T" - adjusts the idle speed by changing the throttle position. On the German saws "Stihl" and the Japanese "Makita" it goes under the letter "S", and on the Swedish "Partner" - "LA".

Turning the screws clockwise increases the engine speed, in the opposite direction - reduces. On the brands "Husgvarna" and "Partner" they regulate the air supply, so the effect of turning them is reversed.

The easiest to tune are Russian-made devices: "Ural 2 Electron" and "Druzhba", which are easily adjusted by ear. This feature allows them to be used in difficult climatic conditions and at great distances from service centers.

It is more difficult to set up the device of Chinese manufacturers. And the Swedes on their "Husgvarna" deliberately restrict users' access to the adjusting screws, stuffing notches on them, which can only be reached with special screwdrivers.

On Japanese models, only one "S" knob is open, with which all settings are made.

Device setup

The adjustment is carried out in two stages: the initial one - on a cold, muffled engine, the subsequent one - when it is running, "hot".

The chainsaw, cleaned of soot, filled with the fuel mixture in accordance with the manual, is placed with the chain away from itself on the table and adjusted. At the first stage, the screws "H" and "L" smoothly, without exerting any effort, screw in clockwise until they stop and then unscrew the number of revolutions of the primary adjustment set by the instruction (on "Husgvarna" this is 1.5 turns). Start the engine and warm up for 10 minutes at medium speed.

The next step is to adjust the low gas. Gradually, increasing it with the "L" screw, reach the maximum and then, decreasing by 14 turns, make them optimal.

In the end, you need to adjust the maximum speed. To do this, they are brought to the current maximum, and then by turning the screw "H" - to the possible limit (it is perceived by ear as interruptions in the operation of the engine). To avoid damage to the tool, you can hold it in this mode for no more than 3 seconds. Therefore, immediately upon reaching it with a 14-turn lapel, the optimal one is set.

During the final testing, at regassing, the tool should steadily reach the desired mode in proportion to the "gas" supply, working smoothly, without disruptions.

Such adjustments are carried out using special tachometers. Performed by ear, they must be corrected instrumentally in the service - this will prolong their durability.

When working with a chainsaw, you should strictly follow the instructions for its operation. Use only those fuels and lubricants that are recommended. The fact is that each manufacturer in the manufacture of products uses metals with only their inherent additives and develops their own oils - this ensures optimal functioning and durability of the tools.

After each use, the saw is thoroughly cleaned. If it is stored for a long time, it is necessary to drain the oil and gasoline.

Almost every person living in a private house or having a summer cottage uses a chainsaw powered by a gasoline internal combustion engine from time to time. For beginners in this regard, the question often arises of how to properly start a chainsaw. It is worth noting here that professional, semi-professional and household tools start up in about the same way. How exactly to do this will be described in the material.

Features of launching the tool

To run the tool, you need several processes to happen at the same time:

  • a fuel mixture must be supplied under the engine piston;
  • it should shrink as much as possible;
  • at this point, a spark must be applied to ignite and start.

Each of these processes occurs at the moment when you pull the starter handle. When using a new chainsaw, you need to remember to break in.

However, in reality, everything is not so simple. Fuel for starting the tool in hot and cold engine mode must differ in the quality of the air mixture. So, a hot engine can start with a normal air level, which will ensure its stable operation and will keep idle speed normally. However, a similar amount of air will be enough to start a cold engine. Before starting the chainsaw, the starter will need to be pulled about 10 times and possibly more.

To reduce the amount of air and increase the fuel supply in the chainsaw carburetor, a special damper is installed that is responsible for adjusting the amount of air when starting the engine. It will be faster to start the engine with a saw, so the duration of the starter and the saw as a whole will be increased.

It is very dangerous to start the saw at the refueling point.

Run according to instructions

Different models of chainsaws have their own launch features and their own mechanisms. We will consider the device startup algorithm using the popular Stihl M. S. 180 chainsaw model as an example.

Before starting the startup process, it should be noted that the instructions for some chainsaw models say that before starting the tool, the emergency stop brake must be engaged for added security. But with a fixed brake, starting will be more difficult..

Accordingly, it will be better to unfix it.

If everything is done correctly, then nothing will be difficult. If you are worried that without fixing the chainsaw will cause harm at the time of launch, then it is better not to risk it at all and not get to work. So, the algorithm for launching the Calm tool is as follows:

  • Before starting the instrument, the flap adjustment lever must be moved to the lower position. Remember that he moves the saw to the bottom only if the gas button is pressed. Press the gas button and move the lever down. So you close the carburetor damper and fix the gas in the pressed position;
  • Next, vigorously pull the starter handle until you hear the characteristic sound of trying to start the tool. He should shut down right away. Then the damper position adjustment lever is moved one step up;
  • In this position, pull the starter handle again until the saw starts. And if it starts, then due to the fact that the gas handle is fixed pressed, the work will take place at high speeds;
  • Then press and release the gas button once so that the throttle adjustment lever automatically assumes the working position and the speed decreases;
  • If it is necessary to bring a heated chainsaw into operation, you need to put the lever in the working position, and then start it;
  • To stop the engine of the machine, the choke control lever must be moved to the up position.

Tool holding

To properly start the chainsaw, you should hold it in the right way at the time of starting. The position of the saw is very important here. Holding at the moment of launch can be carried out in two ways.

In the first case, the saw is placed on a flat surface, while holding the left hand straight and holding the tool by the upper handle, put the right foot on the protection for the second hand, and press the tool to the ground. In a similar position, it will be convenient to launch the tool, since your right hand is free, and the tool is fixed quite securely.

Regardless of the position in which you plan to start the saw, be sure to turn on the saw chain brake.

In the second option, you need to take a standing position and hold the upper handle of the tool with your left hand, and hold the back handle between your legs. Thanks to this position, you can easily wind a low-power tool, and it will be securely fixed, thereby protecting yourself from an accident.

Start without starter

Often, many home craftsmen are interested in whether it is possible to power a chainsaw without the help of a starter. The answer is very simple: it cannot be done in principle.

None of the manufacturers provided other alternative ways to start. Therefore, even if you remove the starter and try to start the car in some other way, it will still not work, because violations will occur in the cooling system. In this system, there is a volute to transfer the flow of cold air from the flywheel impeller towards the cylinder. If it is not, then the engine will overheat and eventually jam.

Reasons why the chainsaw does not start

The tool must be launched strictly according to the instructions. But if you have completed all of the above points, and the saw still does not start, this means that something is wrong with it. There are several reasons why it may not start:

  • there is no spark;
  • fuel is not supplied;
  • clogged air filter.

So, what needs to be done to reveal the true reason why the tool does not work?

First, it must be said if the tool does not start, the screws on the carburetor should never be turned. And if you are not a professional in this field, then even do not try to tune anything with your own hands or try to start the instrument.

The steps listed below, which are necessary for the tool to start working, must be performed in a strictly specified sequence. You need to start the next step only when the previous one did not work. The actions are:

The above material discussed how to start a chainsaw correctly using the example of one of the Calm models, as well as how to behave if the tool cannot start. If you are new to this business or have encountered a problem, then this information may be useful to you in the future.
